The University Lutheran Center in Ames, IA is a combination of the Lutheran Campus Ministry at Iowa State University and Lord of Life Lutheran Church. As a place of worship for both students and residents of Ames (and the greater Story County), we have a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between campus and community! Both groups worship together, and are currently lead by Pastor Jen Andreas.
Lutheran Campus Ministry is a campus ministry congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and a registered student organization of Iowa State University. Devoted to the college community at ISU, we strive to be a place of fellowship, worship, and a “home away from home” for students from all walks of life. We are always looking for ways to serve the Ames community and each other through book study, attending educational lectures, assisting with Food at First, making tie blankets, and taking service trips.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation and a Reconciling in Christ Organization, publicly welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We are a caring group of people who come from all walks of life. Although we are located in the midst of a university setting, and some of us have ISU ties, our members have diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to being a welcoming community. Lord of Life also provides opportunities for education, socialization (we love to have parties!) and service to the community.
Worship and Activities
We worship weekly at 11AM on Sunday with a free meal to follow, and welcome all to visit and worship with us! During the academic year, we also have Holden Evening Prayer on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM, .
